The Nederlandse Dansdagen is proud to announce that it is entering into a special collaboration with three partners in talent development in the context of the Virtual Residences project. Moving Futures, Korzo and PLAN Talentontwikkeling Brabant each nominate one or more makers from the group of choreographers they support, who will create a new, online work for the festival in 2021 for this special project.
The Nederlandse Dansdagen is the annual festival where Dutch dance in all its forms is presented in and from Maastricht. One of the special festival projects that emerged last year in response to the corona pandemic is Virtual Residencies. Choreographers are experimenting with new forms of presentation that result in work that will be shared with the public digitally and online. In view of the long-term impact of the pandemic and the irreversible digitization that has arisen from this, the Nederlandse Dansdagen wants to continue the project over several years.
In 2021, the Nederlandse Dansdagen will work together with three organizations that jointly cover a large part of the talent development in dance: Moving Futures (a collaboration between Dansateliers Rotterdam, DansBrabant, ICK Artist Space, De Nieuwe Oost and Random Collision) for the selection of the makers. ), Korzo (in collaboration with Nederlands Dans Theater) and PLAN Talentontwikkeling Brabant (a collaboration between HZT, Circolo, Theater De Nieuwe Vorst, DansBrabant, United Cowboys, Parktheater, Theaterfestival Boulevard, Artemis, Festival Cement, Podium Bloos) with Corpo Máquina as external partner.
Each of them has suggested one or more creators. They are completely free in the interpretation of their residency, except that it must lead to a presentation via a digital medium.
The following makers have been selected:
Antonin Rioche (Korzo)
Evangelos Biskas (Corpo Maquina)
Jija Sohn (DansBrabant)
Ruben Chi (The New East)
