Cinedans is the international platform for dance film in Amsterdam and the only organization in the Netherlands that has been fully focused on the genre since 2003. Dance film can move and amaze the audience. At the same time, the dance film broadens the professional practice for dancers and choreographers. The dance film is flourishing and has become an indispensable part of the Dutch dance landscape. The Nederlandse Dansdagen and Cinedans present the best short homegrown productions of the past year. Dive into the burgeoning Dutch dance film scene and discover the promising talent!

Patrick is angry and wants to destroy everything. When he takes a forced anger management course, he meets other angry people. A therapist tries to squeeze out their raw energy through dance. Can Patrick find a way to turn his violent energy into something valuable? 

RY X - Your Love(2021) 
Directed by: Ry X 
Choreography:Imre van Opstal and Marne van Opstal 

Video clip of RY X, shot in a stunning landscape in Iceland, shows the dancers and choreographers Imre and Marne van Opstal as two lovers exploring the grace and tumult of their relationship.

Bboys X Ballet Variation(2021) 
Direction & Choreography: Joseph Simon 

Three respected Bboys delve into Joseph Simon's choreographic universe and elaborate their own interpretation of the Don Quixote Ballet's Act III Variation Basil, comparing classical ballet to breaking. 

Soulscape (2022) 
Direction & Choreography: Yuri Bongers, Jeanette Groenendaal 

Dancer/choreographer Yuri Bongers (1974-2021) received a research grant to develop a choreography with camera, dancers and the landscape as the protagonist, when he discovered that this would be his last project. Together with filmmaker Jeanette Groenendaal, he decided to flee every season 2021 for a few days.
