Roshanak Morrowatian

Winner Prize of the Dutch Dance Festival Maastricht 2020

In 2020 Roshanak Morrowatian won the Prize of the Dutch Dance Festival Maastricht. During the Dutch Dance Festival 2021, her new work Kites will premiere.

Kites is an interdisciplinary dance performance that takes the demarcated space of an asylum seekers' center as a starting point. Growing up in a "limbo" between past and future, isolated from society. Roshanak Morrowatian shares with Kites a world of dreams from the eyes / perspective of children. She processes her own experiences and conversations with children with a similar past by means of images, memories and flashbacks. She examines the physical traces of flight, fear and the desire to belong (belonging).
